Here are the results of Canada’s most recent Express Entry draw on October 26, 2022.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 4,750 invites to Canadian permanent resident hopefuls in the latest all-program draw — including candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
This latest draw invited candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 496, down four points from the draw that took place on October 12, 2022 (minimum CRS score of 500).
This is the first time since December 2020 that the CRS score for an all-program draw — where IRCC invites candidates from all three Express Entry programs — has dropped below 500. December 2020 was also significant for Express Entry because that is when IRCC paused all-program draws prior to their resumption on July 6.
Canada’s next Express Entry draw will be conducted in roughly another two weeks’ time.
About Express Entry
Express Entry is Canada’s main method for bringing international skilled workers to this country through permanent residence.
One common misconception about Express Entry, however, is that this title denotes the name of a Canadian immigration program itself. In fact, Express Entry is simply the name given to the online system used to cumulatively manage skilled worker applications from three different programs — the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
In order to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry, candidates must first determine their eligibility for any of the three programs under this system. After determining their eligibility, qualified applicants will need to submit a profile with IRCC on their website and check their CRS score.
A candidate’s CRS score will determine whether they then receive an invitation to apply (ITA), which is the key to becoming a permanent resident in Canada.
Applicants who receive an ITA from IRCC will have 60 days from the date of receipt to complete and submit their electronic application for permanent residence (eAPR) in Canada.
